This 3-hour workshop explores the world of body usage and connection in forró. As dance and expression, forró can help dancers connect with their own well-being while connecting to the music and other dancers.
Felipe started dancing Forró in 2005 and fell in love with it. As a teenager, it was how he learned to connect, to feel, and to express himself. Over the years, his interests took him to explore how to connect physically and emotionally. He attended the Dance and Somatics training at ISLO, in Joensuu and later became a somatic movement educator (Trager approach), deepening his experience with embodiment practices. His teaching style has a strong technical foundation based on the Forral methodology, which he deeply integrated with the somatic approaches.
He started teaching Forró in Finland in 2014 and organized festivals in 2015 and 2018. As the community grew, he founded Forró Abraço Nordestino association together with other members of the community to support the growth of the Forró community in Finland.
This workshop is recommended for dancers with a basic forró level. No registration is required; just show up!
