Code of Conduct

We are dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, and comfortable event experience for everyone, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, body size, ethnicity, religion, or background. We expect all participants to contribute to a respectful and inclusive environment.

Some people follow, some people lead, and some do both. Respect each person's choice and role preference.

Ask for verbal consent: "Would you like to dance?" "Would you like another dance?"

Ask as many people as you'd like to dance. If someone declines, be gracious. Everyone has the right to say no, and no explanation is required.

Consent should be requested and agreed to for every dance. It should never be assumed based on past interactions. Anyone has the right to stop a dance at any time, for any reason. If someone chooses to do so, please respect their decision and respond graciously.

Respect the bodies, boundaries, and personal space of others. Do not touch someone without consent, touch anyone inappropriately, or continue any behaviour after being asked to stop.

Do not give unsolicited dance advice. Feedback should only be given when requested or clearly welcomed. Everyone is at the event to enjoy dancing, learn at their own pace, and have a positive experience.

Harassment, bullying, discrimination, intimidation, stalking, and unwanted attention of any kind are not acceptable at our events.

If someone lets you know, verbally or non-verbally, that they are uncomfortable, respect their boundaries, apologize if appropriate, and adjust your behaviour immediately.

Help keep the dance floor safe. Be aware of those around you and avoid movements that may endanger yourself or others.

Please maintain good personal hygiene and wear suitable clothing and footwear to help create a pleasant environment for everyone.

Respect the privacy of others. If someone does not wish to be photographed or recorded, please respect their choice. Make sure you have their consent if before taking photos or videos of another person.

Participants are expected to behave responsibly. Anyone who violates this Code of Conduct may be asked to modify their behaviour, leave the event, or be excluded from future events at the discretion of the organizers.

Have fun, make friends, support one another, and help keep our community welcoming and safe.

If you experience or witness behaviour that concerns you, please speak to a member of the organizing team or the designated safety contact of the event.
